Really Funny SPAM !!!
I got this email as SPAM the other day. It is really funny. I've never recieved spam like this before. I was curious and checked online for previous instances of this letter to see what other changes there were. I found some guy who also recieved this email. He listed his e-mail name as "Confushi Sushi." So all of the instances that have "Agrawal" written, were replaced with "Sushi!!!" I just thought it was interesting. The best part is at the end when he says to call his "personal" phone number, but never left one!! Ha ha!! This was such a stupid SPAM!! Anyways, if someone else gets this, don't take it seriously.....

Song of the Day
"Desperado" - The version by Garth Brooks.
Linda Rondstat and The Eagles versions are great too, but the Brooks remake has so much more soul and meaning in the song.
This leads me to ask another question: The Eagles used to play backup for Rondstat. Did she write it first and allow them to make the song even bigger?

Can anyone make sense of this?
I was watching "Hollywood Squares" on TV and they asked this question:
P. Diddy has said that if there were a movie made about his life, what actor did he say would do him justice and be best for the role?
The answer was Brad Pitt.
I don't see Brad Pitt playing P. Diddy. I don't know where he got that idea from. I can't put it together...

The Incredibles
The new Pixar animated movie, "The Incredibles," got a 97% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomato.com! Out of 157 reviews! I haven't seen a movie get this rating for a long time. It also pulled in $70 million in opening weekend! I really want to see this when I get home. Hopefully it is still in theaters at that time...

The Republic of New York???
I read this on my friend's AIM profile (thanks HAP). An interesting and funny article. I've heard this same sort of argument with people from LA (or Southern California as a whole).
Should New York City Secede?

Convenience or Ultra-American-Laziness?
How much more lazy can Americans get? First we can't take the effort to go to the movie rental store and start to order from online sources such as NetFlix. Now we don't want to sit online and order the movie. Now, when people are out to fatten themselves with American fast food, they still can't take the time to actually go to the store. WHILE THEY ARE ALREADY OUT OF THE HOUSE!!! Shows the great progress that our country is making....

Now THIS is cool......!!!!
Certain upscale hotels give you free iPods for the duration of your stay. The even pre-load it with 2000+ songs! I think this is a very cool idea. It's also great advertising for Apple. Smart idea.

It's all over now....
Well the election is finally over. Congratualations to George W. Bush. At least this time it was a fair election. Congrats for winning on a strategy of fear and deception. Four more years for Bush and Cheney to put more money in their pockets. Big business wins again.
Also, congratualtions to Kerry and Edwards for the good fight. They did their best to win. It's too bad that they couldn't convince the rest of the country to vote enough for them. As I watched the concession speaches from Edwards and Kerry, I realized that they were the people I really wanted in the White House. I never felt it more than I did during that time.
The worse part of this whole election is that not only did Bush win the Presidency, but the Republican majority in both the Senate and the House increased. Finally, Bush will now get to choose members of the Supreme Court as well. This means that the Republicans will control ALL THREE OF THE BRANCHES OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT!!!! They will hold extreme control over the country. This is definately not a good thing for the Democrats. It will be very hard for Democrats to recover from this disaster.
Personally, the best thing right now about the current situation is the fact that I am in India for the next 4 years. I will be lucky to miss most of the occurances that will happen in the upcoming years. Finally, we should be able to get out of this eventually. Time heals all things, but not if the thing is dead.

Judgement Day???
This coming Election Day has the potential to be one of the most important and pivotal days that we will have experienced in recent years; maybe even for this decade. The events that will take place tomorrow will shape the formation of our country and its people. Forget about who wins and whatever policies are made because of the winner. That is not the basis of this essay. This essay is to explain what I think will happen after tomorrow's events occur.
As everyone knows, this country, at the present time, is divided. Possibly more divided than has ever been before in history. Tomorrow is important because after the election, the thoughts and positions that are in this country's citizens' minds right now will undoubtedly become beliefs and ideals that are "set in stone." At this present moment, the future is uncertain. After tomorrow, the future is clear. People will have 4 more years to firmly adhere to their beliefs about the system that will be/ will not be implemented. The inner feelings of a losing party supporter will increase even more because there will not be anyone to talk about their views as the campaigning has stopped. The feelings will continually be "eating away" at that individual and will cause a great bitterness for the winning party. Now imagine this on the scale of the American population; if every one person thought this way. The country is said to be about "half and half" right now. That means that one-half of the country will be resentful to the other half. This, therefore, will cause "The Great Divide" of the United States. I feel that this is especially prominent in this election as both sides have been so nasty to each other this entire time. That has filtered down into the people.
One thing that I have observed within people in the recent year, is that there is much hostility from a person believing in one system and someone believing in the other. This bothers me to a great extent. We already have enough issues that presently separate us from each other: race, sex, religion, income, sexual orientation, belongings/ possessions, and many other barriers. Do we really need to add "political party affiliation" to that list? When I talk to my college friends back home, they told me that there was "Friendster" list for John Kerry. I looked at the list, and noticed that the entire group that I was with at school is on that friends list. Not only my friends, but a total of 180 people were on that list. I wondered how many people signed up on the list because they firmly believe in Kerry or that their friends signed on, so they decided to do it as well. The point that I am getting at is: Did this second group sign on as to not be judged by the first group? Imagine that an individual is sitting with all of his or her friends. All of his friends are Democrat supporters, yet he alone is the Republican (this situation applies both ways, just to be clear). They all begin to discuss the present political situation. Will this one person join the conversation with his views and say that he is a proud Republican? Will he stay out of the conversation? Or will he fake it and just go along with the rest of them? This right here is a divide. He knows that if he speaks up, he will be questioned by possibly all of his friends. My point is that will these "friends" look at him differently in the future? He shouldn't be judged, but as history shows, human nature isn't that friendly. Subconsciously, it still happens. I saw it myself when I was in high school. I was the only Democrat out of a group of 100 people (very small school). My school was entirely Republican, due to the fact that it was a Baptist Christian school. We were also located in a Southern area of the state. I tried to "campaign" in the 2000 election. I got some weird looks, second glands, scoffs, and shaking heads. In my case, it was fun being the counter-point to the rest of the school. My teacher arranged a fake school poll in the week before the election. It was 95-5. 95 for Bush; 5 for Gore. I was one of the Gore voters. The other 4 who voted for Gore were doing just out of spite for the others. The point is that I assumed that I would be respected for choosing my stance, but instead I was "set apart" by some means.
Also, it has been seen that an increasing number of young people, such as myself, have attempted to make some type of an active part in this election. I've talked to several of my friends and I asked why they have not previously or do not plan to vote. Most common response is that they were "lazy" (essentially). Immediately after that, I received the retort, "but it wouldn't matter anyways." Now imagine this: An individual puts in time and effort to listen to candidates, to read about them, to even do some sort of campaigning, or even only do the voting part. Their choice loses the election. Now combine being lazy and the my-vote-doesn't-matter-attitude with that person's choice losing the election. That person could potentially become bitter towards both the whole election process. They would consider it a waste of their time. They could be persuaded to never vote again. They might think that their vote was insignificant, and that they were right in their initial belief. This country would potentially lose another young voter. Again, imagine this on the scale of the country. If we lose these potential voters in this great of an amount, it would be a devastating blow to this country's political system. Keep in mind that I am talking about the young, 18 to 30 year old citizens. This is the generation that will determine the future for the next 50 to 70 years!!! This country could not afford to lose that group.
I do have to mention that I feel that this will happen more in the case if President Bush wins tomorrow. I, along with most of the people that I know are Democrats and most of the media I read/watch is liberal as well. This shows that I will personally be able to observe most of the negative feelings explained above. Also, I feel that based on the events of the election in 2000 and the resulting 4 years; many feel that they have been cheated. If Bush wins, this resentment will only increase.
Hopefully, I am entirely wrong. Hopefully, this essay will become completely irrelevant. Hopefully, people will not be judgmental of others. Hopefully, there is no "Great Divide." Hopefully, whatever the outcome, tomorrow proceeds without any problem and the next President is elected without a problem.
This is it. Last call. No more debates, no more campaigning, no more news programs or commercials. Tomorrow, we the people decide our future.

An Essay by John Kerry
By John F. Kerry
--November 1, 2004
SHORTLY after Christopher Reeve passed away, his wife, Dana, stood
with me on a stage in Columbus, Ohio. She wanted to talk to America
about her gutsy, heroic husband and his dreams for the future. She
told us, "He imagined living in a world where politics would never get
in the way of hope."
Also with me that day was John Glenn, whose daring journey to explore
the heavens made us hopeful again.
In the closing days of this campaign, I ask Americans to choose the
vision John Glenn embodies and Christopher Reeve never abandoned.
On Tuesday, Americans face a fundamental choice: We can choose to
continue the failed policies of the past four years -- or we can vote
for a fresh start for America. For the past four years, George W. Bush
has made the wrong choices for America. Nowhere is this more clear
than in his catastrophic misjudgments in Iraq.
He took his eye off the ball -- diverting resources from destroying
the terrorists who attacked us on Sept. 11 to rush to war against
Saddam Hussein, who had no collaborative links to Al Qaeda and no
links to the Sept. 11 attacks.
The Bush administration now calls Iraq "a remarkable success story."
Americans know better. Iraq is a mess: We see kidnappings and
hostage-takings, cities too dangerous for our soldiers to enter, more
than 1,100 brave American troops killed, and now the incredible
failure to secure weapons and explosives -- at the Al Qaqaa complex
alone, 760,000 pounds of explosives have disappeared. It took just one
pound of these explosives to blow up Pan Am Flight 103.
And we see another set of Bush failures here at home. Bush has spent
four years fighting for the powerful and well-connected, but his
policies have squeezed our middle class and those struggling to join
it.
He's let companies outsource jobs to Asia and given them tax breaks
for doing so -- and he's the first president to lose jobs in 70 years.
Four million more Americans have fallen into poverty on his watch --
1.3 million of them children. He's ignored the runaway cost of
college, let healthcare costs soar out of control, and driven gas
prices up to $2 a gallon with an energy policy that punishes American
families -- and rewards the Saudi royal family. And after raiding the
Social Security trust fund, he's now vowed to privatize Social
Security with a plan that will cut benefits up to 45 percent.
If the president thinks we're doing just fine, then he must believe
that we shouldn't hope for something better.
It doesn't have to be this way. John Edwards and I will take this
country in a new direction.
First, we'll get healthcare costs under control. That means covering
all of our children and giving families access to the same private
health insurance that members of Congress give themselves. It means
allowing our seniors to import safe, FDA-approved prescription drugs
from Canada. And it means lifting the ban on federal funding for stem
cell research.
Second, we'll fight to raise middle-class incomes by keeping and
creating good-paying jobs in America. We'll roll back tax breaks for
those who make more than $200,000 a year and give middle-class
families tax credits to help pay for college, healthcare, and child
care.
Third, we'll work to save Social Security. I will not privatize Social
Security; I will not cut benefits; and I will not raise the retirement
age.
Fourth, we'll make America independent of Mideast oil within 10 years.
We'll do it by investing in technology and alternative energy sources
and in cars and SUVs you only have to fill up once a month, not every
week.
Finally, I will fight a smarter, tougher, and more effective war on
terror. I will stop at nothing to hunt down, capture, and kill the
terrorists. I will never give any nation or organization a veto over
our national security. And I will always build and lead strong
alliances so that America never has to go it alone.
If you join with me on Tuesday, we will both defend our country and
fight for America's families. We will unite Democrats and Republicans
to succeed in Iraq and restore America's leadership in the world. We
will once again stand up for the middle class and all those struggling
to join it. We will never again allow the politics of fear to obscure
our hope for the future. And together, we will lift up this nation
with the confidence that our best days are still ahead.
Senator John F. Kerry is the Democratic candidate for president.
