Well the election is finally over. Congratualations to George W. Bush. At least this time it was a fair election. Congrats for winning on a strategy of fear and deception. Four more years for Bush and Cheney to put more money in their pockets. Big business wins again.
Also, congratualtions to Kerry and Edwards for the good fight. They did their best to win. It's too bad that they couldn't convince the rest of the country to vote enough for them. As I watched the concession speaches from Edwards and Kerry, I realized that they were the people I really wanted in the White House. I never felt it more than I did during that time.
The worse part of this whole election is that not only did Bush win the Presidency, but the Republican majority in both the Senate and the House increased. Finally, Bush will now get to choose members of the Supreme Court as well. This means that the Republicans will control ALL THREE OF THE BRANCHES OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT!!!! They will hold extreme control over the country. This is definately not a good thing for the Democrats. It will be very hard for Democrats to recover from this disaster.
Personally, the best thing right now about the current situation is the fact that I am in India for the next 4 years. I will be lucky to miss most of the occurances that will happen in the upcoming years. Finally, we should be able to get out of this eventually. Time heals all things, but not if the thing is dead.
