Deathly Hallows shatters records
"As excepted the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows broke records this weekend with Scholastic that 8.3 million copies were sold in the first 24 hours in the U.S., while UK publisher Bloomsbury sold 2.6 million copies in the same time period.Wow.... 72 million copies worldwide.... Only 8.3 million of that in the U.S. I figured the U.S. would have led in book sales, and maybe it does, but it's only roughly 8%.
Results worldwide indicate that 72 million copies of the book were sold over the weekend."
I had 2 crazy HP weeks. First I saw the movie on the opening show. Then I saw the movie again in Imax 3-D. (Which I have to say is amazing! See it if you get the chance! Little tip: put the glasses on only when they tell you to near the ending. Most of the movie is non 3-D and you end of looking like a tool.) Then I spent the last 3 days before the book release avoiding all human contact, real or virtual, in order to avoid spoilers. The only time I saw people that don't live in my house or talked to anyone else, was when I stood in line on the 21st waiting for my book. Then I hid again for 3 more days.... Worth it though....
Final thoughts: Great book, surprising, sad its over, need a new book...
