A Different Side....

NBA Daily Dime - April 23

LeBron is just great player to watch. Read this excerpt from the above page:

--A Question of Trust--

Where have we seen this guy before? Who is he?
Is he Magic? Oscar? Jerry? Michael? Can he be defined?
Maybe not. LeBron James is a one-of-a-kind player with the size of Magic, the strength of Oscar, the instincts of Jerry and Michael's leadership abilities.
Case in point on the MJ comparison: There was a play late in the third quarter, where LeBron drove the lane and, after drawing several Wizard defenders, dropped the ball off to Donyell Marshall for a wide-open layup. But Marshall badly missed the layup.
Marshall tried to laugh it off, but LeBron was not amused and fired a nasty scowl in Donyell's direction. LeBron had seen the Cavs' lead slip from 19 to 13 and was not finding humor in the situation.
Michael would have done the same thing. Michael had no patience for that kind of thing, especially the laughing-it-off part.
Here's where LeBron is different: Michael doesn't give Marshall another chance. LeBron does.
While LeBron is tough on teammates, he's not Michael-tough on them. LeBron has a different way. He includes them, gives them a second chance, and at times he defers to them.
So, maybe that's who he is. LeBron is a superstar who trusts his teammates and that trust might take the Cavs higher that we could imagine.

I don't agree...

The following link leads to an article arguing about Barry Bonds and his eventual breaking of Babe Ruth's home run record. The writer discusses how baseball, its fans, and the record books have been cheated.

I don't agree. I believe the writer is simply failing to let go of the past. Merely not wanting to accept that this is the future of sports. Someone was going to break the record. Someone will break Bonds records. In the long run, it doesn't matter. They don't practice in the past techniques, so they won't perform with the past results.

If you don't believe in the way the players play, then don't give them the millions of dollars they get for doing it. Just deal with it. Because in the end, its not going to change. There's no point in making Bonds a scapegoat for your inability to accept the inevitable.

Just be happy for Bonds that he is setting a record, that by no means was easy to get, even "juiced". Be happy that the sport is progressing. Be happy that you were able to witness an event like this. And if you are still bitter, just keep hoping that someone will break his record too. Because when that happens, no one will even remember all this.

The breaking point

"It's hard to feel good about that. Bonds is a self-absorbed, unlikable person who has an adversarial relationship with the world at large, and he has (almost certainly) used unethical, unnatural means to accomplish feats that actively hurt baseball. His statistical destruction of Ruth is metaphoric, but not in a good way. It's an indictment of modernity, even for people who don't give a damn about the past or the present."

Song of the Week

Takin' it ol' school with "Regulate" by Warren G

"Sixteen in the clip and one in the hole" - such a classic line...

I've found it!

I've found the best music program ever! Plus, it's free. Also, it has zero adware, uses barely any resources, and has a sleep timer. What's the name of this great player? Billy.

Here is the link to get it

P.S. - This really only matters if your computer can't handle playing MP3s with anything else. Mine couldn't so I've been searching for a low resource player for a long time...
Even so, it still is a great program. I suggest getting it. Why waste precious resources with any other program.

Congratulations Florida!!!

Wow, I had them losing way early in the bracket. For what I could follow, it seems like it was a crazy tournament this year. My first pick was Ohio State [I actually thought that we might have had a chance] and then LSU later(Final Four), and then UCLA after that(against UF).
